I prefer to take an in-depth approach, citing examples of referencing, style, voicing, and grammar errors, but at the same time I try to be encouraging. My goal isn't to pick a writing apart a piece at a time but to help make it the best writing it can be. I often will include links to articles that may help with an error, if that error seems to be a writer's weak point (we all have one). I try to do all of this while at the same time being energetic, encouraging, and positive!
I like to always pick out the positive points in a piece, even if overall I am not enamoured by it.
I tend to point out grammatical and spelling errors.
I will be honest, but not unkind
My reviewing style varies. I may do a little edit if possible or pinpoint what I think is incorrect. My review is merely base on what I feel about your piece. If I enjoy it, I say it. If not, I tell you why I'm not.
I often do reviews on all Poetry Items- regardless of the genres, styles and the way it was written. However if you like, you can request a short story, chapter not the entire book or novel, articles and essays, etc.
As a reviewer of your work, I will first look for identification in what you are presenting. When a reader can truly identify with the writer, emotion sets in and the story becomes a part of the reader as well as the writer.
My review style is usually very grammar oriented, although I of course will give my impression of the piece as a whole, detail successful areas, and suggest improvements for figurative devices/language, character development, etc.
My review style is personal, structured, and emotionally driven. I aim to balance honest praise with thoughtful, constructive critique, always offering suggestions that help strengthen the work. I try to keep my tone respectful and supportive because I believe feedback should encourage, not discourage. My goal is to help writers grow, not just improve one piece.
Honest. I do not review harshly or with malicious intent. I only want to give you my honest opinion nothing more, nothing less.
• I review on my phone from the hours of 6am -3pm.
Back to doing reviews my apologies for all those that requested one and I didn't receive it in time.
I like to go in depth on how I felt whilst reading it. I'll point out where I was tripped out of my flow by sentence structure or oddity. What confuses me. What intrigues me.
Examples can be seen in my recent reviews.
Happy to review privately on request. Default will be public.
Unsentimental. I focus on the kinds of craft issues that will keep a writer from being taken seriously and prevent them from fully expressing their vision.

My review style is simple- I like to keep it short and sweet. I tend to use something I learned in college, which is called the "sandwich technique". I will tell you something positive, then include any constructive comments that I feel may be of use to you, then end with another positive.
I will write a detailed review of your item that goes into detail about the positives and negatives of your item. I color code each section so everything is easy to see once you view your review.
I'll review your stuff if you want. Don't expect anything amazing though. I'm really just some random. Sometimes, though, you want to know how the randos will react.
Not sure I have a style....I learn as much from you as you from me. I will point our typos, grammatical things if I see them. I love poetry and when it comes to stories, please nothing "dark"....not my thing.
I do my best to give an honest assessment of what I'm reading, I don't nit pick on spelling and grammar but will mention something that is glaring and should be pointed out.
I don't like using a template. I don't like correcting spelling. I don't like correcting grammar. I don't want to be your editor. I enjoy discussing what I have read. I am very happy to tell people what I have liked and what I have disliked. There is not a lot that I dislike.
In a single word, thorough. I will turn your piece upside down, shake the change out of its pockets and look at even the most minute details. I can be technical but will do so when emphasizing a larger point about the piece as a whole.
I have a form I use for reviews. I look for a Goal, Motivation, Conflict and Resolution. It also allows me to tell what I liked and what I thinks needs improving. In my reviews I may make suggestions by adding my take on what the author is trying to say. Purely a suggestion to take or leave as needed.
